Scottish Hazards Affiliation

Scottish Hazards is calling for all TU branches in Scotland to affiliate with Scottish Hazards.

Scottish Hazards campaigns for improved worker health and safety in Scotland and internationally.

Scottish Hazards is a registered charity which provides information, advice, support and representation to non-unionised workers in Scotland (always with the recommendation that they join a union!).  We also provide support and advocacy for people who have lost loved ones through work-related death.

We are, together with the STUC, an active part of the Partnership on Health and Safety in Scotland Partnership on Health and Safety in Scotland (hse.gov.uk) Alongside the STUC and their affiliates, we work to reduce injury, ill health and death caused by work; making sure that every day every worker returns from work as healthy as when they left home.

As a charity, we rely heavily on donations to allow us to provide our services and we have received support through donations from various Trade Unions throughout the years, these have been very gratefully received. After consideration, we have decided to ensure sustainability, and due to regular requests, to open our Affiliation programme. This will help us build a solid funding base to continue our work.

We are inviting branches to affiliate with an annual fee of £100, £250 or £500, depending on the size and resources of the branch.

Benefits of Affiliation:

  • Affiliates will be seen as part of Scottish Hazards
  • Regular communication from our team about our current work, campaigns, and issues
  • Affiliates will be invited to collaborate on health and safety campaigns
  • Affiliates can request information and advice on health and safety matters

Please help us continue providing what we believe to be a unique and crucial service for workers in Scotland.
